Kate has over a decade of construction industry experience in the Pacific Northwest. Her involvement with wood structures began as an undergraduate at Colorado State University, where she participated in the NeesWOOD CAPSTONE shake table test in 日本. As a licensed Professional 工程师 in Oregon and California, she worked on mass timber projects during the early stages of code development for CLT. Kate has experience in both the fields of engineering and construction management and her diverse background enables a holistic approach to projects and problem solving with constructability and non-structural building systems in mind. She holds a dual Master of Science degree in Civil 工程师ing and Wood Science from Oregon State University, with a focus on structural engineering.
